Sweet.

Love the lead guitar's tone. Gritty. All of the leads are sick.

Oh man the bass is right the fuck in your face, that's pretty brutal. Might be a little bit loud though. Yeah, it's definitely loud in places. (2:52,
2:57 for example)
Drums are pretty slick, though the snare is a little flat for my tastes.

Overall though this is fuckin badass, kind of shit I wish I could write... and play.

Metaljonus responds:

Thanks man! I will upload the remixed version soon but I am too lazy lol.

Really likin this one

Top-notch mixing and overall quality, right off the bat. Kudos there.

Wonderfully chill piece. Love the percussion. Varied, but not overstated. Might have liked a little bit more buzz in the snare.

The guitar (that's actually a guitar and not some sneaky synth, is it?) was very wonderful. Perfectly 'glassy.'

The ambient synths and the like did an excellent job filling the track out.

Overall, it's not a style I'm normally into but definitely a wicked track.

Reviewed

It's a good track, but the guitar tracks being panned hard left/right was a little tough to listen to. I personally wouldn't push them more than 30-40% in one direction, so they're not 'way the fuck over there'

Also, for me, the lead was a little 'weak', though I generally do like a higher-gain blues sound.

Otherwise a fine track.

Thanks for the review, first thing. The Panning was a little hard for me to get correctly, since I\m not that "techy", but I'll work on it. I couldn't pull off gain, since my pedal isn't working ATM. Kind of a bummer, but not too bad.

Thanks mate, your opinion means a lot to me. I'll might re-record it someday.

Very chill.

Percussion kind of left something to be desired for me, a little greater variety or a little more activity would be nice to hear.

The bass was definitely nice. Very thick. Still, would have liked to hear a little more variation.

Lead synth is quite nice, though maybe a little quiet.

Overall it's a solid track, though I feel like it could benefit from... going somewhere, if that makes sense.

Syntrus responds:

You know back in 2001 it wasn't rly standerd to use a real kit. Drummachines were still cool so it sounds like a good old drum machine beat.

Review.

The piano in the beginning felt like there was absolutely no consideration for key.

The percussion is far too loud, the rhythm is fairly boring.

Not a lot else to be said.

rafael3 responds:

thanks! i apreciatte ur review, wil try to make better next time! : )

Drunk Review

Most of the samples felt a little synth-like for my tastes.

Some of the textures, when there's a lot of instruments going, felt really really dissonant. This might be addressed with some panning, as most instruments felt like they were falling right in center.

The composition seemed alright.

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

My sample collection ain't the best (the best of the free, I suppose), and my speakers were kinda broken, though I admit that things, in retrospect, should have been panned better. A little dissonance never hurt anyone, did it?

Thank you for your review.

Interesting

Your percussion needs some serious attention, it sounds... not good.

The bass is almost oppressively loud.

Your arps are pretty cool, though they kind of show up and dip out really quick. Those transitions could use some attention I think.

There's a significant amount of clipping going on here that makes the song really unpleasant to listen to when there's a large number of instruments going at once.

The piano feels pretty muffled, it'd be nice to hear it brighter.

The overall texture of the song feels like all of your instrumentation is fighting for room. Work on your panning, composition and EQing to make this less of an issue.

Oh man fix that clipping.

The percussion sounds are definitely very false sounding.

I wrote this while listening to the song, so if it seems disordered, that's why.

I really can't comment on the composition because of the technical flaws. Sorry I couldn't be more positive, but the clipping and mixing REALLY need to be addressed. I would like to hear more rhythmic variation in your bass, eighth notes get very, very boring.

DJ-Chilvan responds:

thank you very much for the review. It has really taught me a lot. I wont remaster it now, but when the time comes i will take all of what you said into consideration. And even use what you said for the remix. Thank you very much.

Well.

I found the heavy tremelo effect on the piano to be a little gimmicky as it carried throughout the song. It kind of destroys any chance for melodic development, so the song is left feeling lacking.

Other than that there's not much to say, the song feels unfinished.

Tysuru responds:

It's pretty basic. So I see what youre saying. Maybe one day I'll put more.

Well

Your very first effect, the panned 'swish', that gets repeated throughout the piece, is very uncomfortable for me, to the point where it's difficult to listen to the rest of the song.

Aside from that this song's got a fairly nice texture and isn't bad, I suppose. Some of the instrumentation gets kind of a 'plink plunk' kind of feel sometimes, as though it's misguided.

An interesting start though.
