Sweet!

Fuckin' love the lead guitar tone.

Drum line is pretty badass.

Is there a bass? If so, I can't really hear it.

Same goes for rhythm guitar, in my opinion it could be a few DB louder.

Definitely badass, want to hear more from you guys.

Flawlessempire responds:

Actually there is no bass! XD
The rythem is low since he hit a few bad chords lol
Plus I like my lead guitar

But thanks alot!

Not quite my style.

This is an okay song.

Your guitar sounds kind of like a ukulele. I would mic/EQ it differently. I think some brightness would help.

Vocally, whether it's a vocal choice or just the tempo you've elected to play this song, but it sounds like you're rushing more than singing. It might work if your instrumentation wasn't so laid back. Sibilance is a little rough. A little bit of reverb or delay would make the vocals so much less flat.

Yeah, I definitely am not a fan of the guitar tone you've achieved. Aside from that, it's not a bad song.

Upbeat.

It's upbeat and enjoyable in a BGM/elevator music kind of way. The melody is way too passive for this to be really interesting to me.

As others have pointed out, it still sounds very much like it was converted from a MIDI. Better virtual instruments would fix this. More 'real' sounding instruments might also get rid of some of the 'old video game' vibe.

Good work on the whole.

Not so hot.

The toms are so incredibly boomy. Way too much resonance.

I can barely hear the kick.

For a regimental feel, why aren't you using the snare?

Bland.

Bland and boring.

The 'guitar' tone is terrible.

On the whole, the whole track felt like it was building to somewhere, and just didn't go there.

JudoJoe responds:

Thank you for the criticism. I really do appreciate it and I will do my best to go there next time.

Damn

I know you've had an incredible amount of reviews and probably more than a couple that say the same thing I'd like to, but here goes.

I've listened to some of your music, and you've got an incredible skill. You make music that speaks to people on any number of levels. That becomes immediately obvious when one glances at the reviews left for your work. That's a big thing. You may never be famous for making music, but it's got to be such an amazing feeling knowing that people take something away from your music that's more than just a 'that was pretty cool', something that's real and meaningful.

You rule man.

A lot of good

I love the guitar tone and the regimental drums (especially in the beginning)

Starts sounding a lot like Einherjer once the vocals kick in. I'm down with viking metal.

About the only thing I'd change is to maybe look at some of your levels, sometimes things fall farther into the background than I think they should.

On the whole, a really sweet track.

neoblent2 responds:

Thank you man. Yeah. This recording session as a whole was really sketch. But we have to work with what we can afford. Next time around everyting will sound badass.

Nuts

The drums are crazy.

I wish the guitar had a little more low end, or maybe if you turned up the bass?

Better drum samples would make this rip, that kick needs to thump.

Hades responds:

I was actually considering pulling the lower-end section of the guitar up, but then I thought that it would sound a lot cooler to leave the lows to the bass. And I know that better drums would improve this song, but at the moment, these are the best I have. :P

Pretty badass.

Love the riff.

Your solo tone is pretty badass and it's definitely well played. Good work.

Dimoria responds:

Thank you so much :)

Sweet.

I wish my fingers would do that.
