This is 'meh'

This game wasn't very entertaining for me. The perspective change on the very colorful city in the background was painful. Why was I collecting the orbs? I guess what i mean by that is that the game seemed to have very little point.

"Hit this, don't hit that" has been done to death, especially in the realm of flash games on newgrounds. I guess what I'm saying is that this particular submission offered very little to capture my interest.

Sounds were painful. A wider variety/better quality of sound effects is a must.

Good!

This game is really great. The new take on 'snake' is exactly the kind of innovation we need more of.

More varied powerup icons might be nice, the varations of arrows kind of lended a additional drabness to the monochromatic levels.

The music loops (in the blue stages at least, I didn't play any farther than that) got really bothersome to me. Both because of content and the audible 'song is over' pause before it started right back up again.

Overall definitely worthwhile.

Great comment! I'll try to work more on the "seemlessness" of the music with the next game. (I yeah, the blue stage has the worst music. But you gotta try the green and black stage 'cause I'm really proud of the music there :P)
Once again, good comment!

Meh

Sound effects are oppressive, and there's no background music. There's tons of great stuff in the audio portal.

The gameplay is old. In the future definitely try to make it interesting or unique in some way, because no one remembers 'yet another space invaders clone'.

The game didn't have any glaring bugs in the short time I played it, so you're on the right track for sure. Keep it up, I hope to play some great games by you in the future.

Pretty good.

I found the difficulty to have similar issues to what's noted in many other reviews.

There's no volume control. This always knocks a few points off for me, because I use my computer for more than one thing at a time. Application also hijacked my computer's sound when the game started, which was odd.

The game is very entertaining despite these issues. I love the idea of a statue blowing away birds in some park somewhere. The flying feathers were great.

Lower the price of ammo, if nothing else. Improve the effectiveness of the defense, or reduce the rate of damage accumulation. Add a save system. You add these features, it would rapidly approach a ten.

Keep up the good work!

Very neat

I rate this game highly because of the concept. The idea that this man's needs and condition change constantly and visually is very intriguing. I think that the foundation here could very easily be incorporated into a more complete game with objectives/rewards and higher visual production values.

Looking forward to 2.0.

Good

This game is excellent and innovative.

However, there were a couple gripes.

Some levels had 'safe' areas that I supose were unintentional.

Also, the fact that the screen follows jumps in such a fashion that you can not see the ground while you're in the air is very, very frustrating to me.

Amazing

I loved the idea of rapidly calculating the optimal solution to division problems while frantically shooting at flying blocks.

Definitely a strong showing

There were some things that can get better. Scrolling the map with the arrow keys is a little annoying, at least an option to use WASD would be nice.

Unit queuing would be a HUGE addition to this game. Consider it for any future versions.

While the gameplay was very smooth and fairly polished, sometimes everything felt a little slow. This might just be inherent to the flash medium, but if you could do anything to mitigate this it would be a good thing.

A greater unit variety, obviously, is always a good draw in the RTS.

The upgrades were nice.

Overall you've got a very solid offering that's definitely entertaining. I hope you make a second version, it can only get better from here. Good work.

Good, but almost excessively challenging

This game is tremendously more difficutl than it needs to be, I think. If you could either increase the resolution of the game (it plays in a tiny window on my computer) or increase the size of the chimneys, it would make for a much more enjoyable experience.

Loved it

This is one of those games that manages to be incredibly frustrating, but you keep coming back to because it's so awesome.

Features I'd like to see:
SAVE SYSTEM. It'd be nice to be able to come back to a session later.

That's actually my biggest gripe with the game.

Everything else is excellent, the combat manages to be interesting and the game is challenging enough to hold my interest.

Good work, hope to see a sequel.

RogueTeddyBear responds:

Thanks for playing. I definitely thought about a save system but to be honest i ran short on time (this was for the MaxGames contest whos deadline was yesterday : / ).

I'll be sure to implement one in any future works.

I'm currently employed as a professional sound engineer, travelling the country with a musical.
